Farmer-led research is a process of inquiry that uses the scientific method to address on-farm curiosities and challenges. It is a flexible and powerful tool that can be integral to improving operations, including the ability to compare the environmental and economic impacts of on-farm innovations. Hear from farmer researchers in the north about their trials, results, and what research has meant for them and their farms.
Ken Laing will also share about the work he has been doing at Orchard Hill Farm to compare different winter-killed and rolled cover crops and mulching systems to reduce tillage and maintain continuous cover for organic vegetable crops
