Coppice Agroforestry: Practical Applications for Regrowth

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Coppicing allows us to leverage woody plants’ remarkable ability to resprout after they’ve been cut to meet all sorts of material and conservation needs. It’s an ancient practice that served as a key foundation of human societies around the globe for millennia, but it is little understood or practiced throughout much of temperate North America today. Join Mark Krawczyk - grower, educator, consultant and author of the newly-released book Coppice Agroforestry - Tending Trees for Product, Profit and Woodland Ecology - for an introduction to coppice management and other related forms of resprout silviculture along with a deep dive into a some of the most promising tree and shrub species for Ontario growers. Winter is the ideal time to coppice, so this is the perfect time to learn how to integrate these practices into your working landscapes!
