Floral. Sweet. Crispy. Carroty. Discerning eaters know that carrots don’t all taste alike. Carrot flavour can vary dramatically from one variety to the next and under varying environmental conditions. If you carrot all about locally-adapted varieties, or even if you just love carrots, you'll want to participate in this variety tasting! This year, 42 farms participated in nationwide Canadian Organic Vegetable Improvement (CANOVI) program carrot variety trials. These trials compare a carrot variety bred by (and for) Canadian organic farmers with varieties currently available in seed catalogues. Help farmer-breeders find carrot varieties with just the right colour, crunch, and flavour by letting us know which varieties taste best to you.
