Hear about inspiring initiatives working to build community, regenerate the land and engage youth in communities across the northeast:
  • The Nimkii Youth Collective is working to revitalize the land at Nimkii Aazhibikoong and engage youth in learning traditional land-based skills.
  • The Wiikwemkoong Agricultural Resources Management Program is building agricultural skills and increasing food sovereignty through a number of initiatives, including a large vegetable garden, a backyard chicken program, and now a cattle herd for the community.
  • Manidoo Bineshii Dreams (MBD) is an Indigenous-owned creative collective & edible forest space in Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, Ontario. Prioritizing land & water preservation with off-grid methods & sustainable development.
