Ken graduated from the University of Guelph with a BSc in horticulture in 1979. He is farming
at Orchard Hill Farm near St.Thomas, Ontario with his wife Martha and daughter Ellen. He has
experience growing a wide variety of horticultural and field crops organically for 3 decades.
Orchard Hill Farm is now the horticultural site for Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada’s/ EFAO’s
“Living Labs” project in Ontario which is looking to develop no-till strategies for organic
vegetables for mid-scale market gardeners. His experience with a wide variety of cover crops
and years of building and modifying machinery are proving very useful.
